Dr Chua is also actively involved in medical education and was a Clinical Teacher with the National University of Singapore. He has been involved in the teaching and demonstrating of endoscopic techniques, both in Singapore and in the Asean region and has also been invited to speak on a variety of topics relating to gastroenerology and endoscopy, both to the general public and to the medical profession.

Prior to establishing his private practice at Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Mount Alvernia Hospital, Dr Chua was formerly Consultant in the Division of Gastroenterology at Changi General Hospital. Dr Chua is a Gastroenterologist with subspecialty expertise in the fields of therapeutic endoscopy (including ERCP) and endoscopic ultrasonography (including interventional EUS techniques). He has a strong interest in diseases relating to the hepato-pancreaticobiliary system as well as gastrointestinal cancers.
